Melissa Dickey called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.  The meeting was held outdoors, in the outdoors space for The Squeeze, instead of at our usual meeting place at Camp Rollandet.  Many residents in the south part of the neighborhood were in attendance.

Rachel Ottoborgo asked a question about the recent rental of the Park for a wedding.  She said that the Park has been the best kept secret in Denver for a long time, and added that she hopes we appreciate the Park.

Councilwoman Sandoval.  Alyssa Dominguez provided information about the Tennyson Art Walk, free legal resources at Webb Building on October 23, a Sloan’s Lake park cleanup, and the Police Department’s free drug disposal on Oct. 25.  She advised us about Halloween and Dia de los Muertos events.  She informed us about a program for young people to help shovel people’s walks.

Ms. Dominguez provided information about the budget process and how we can express our concerns about the City’s budget.  She advised us about the meetings of DOTI’s and Park and Recreation advisory boards, and added that we can meet with the P&R advisory board if we have questions about rental of the Parks for weddings or about any other concerns.  She also provided information about the Commander’s meetings for DPD’s District 1 and about the availability of 311 if we have concerns or questions about City’s services. 

Secretary’s Report.  A motion was duly made and seconded for approval of the amendments to IPNA’s By-Laws.  We are working to preserve a community, a great neighborhood.  We are a Registered Neighborhood Association.  We have been using donations from Councilwoman’s Sandoval’s office and from neighbors to pay our expenses, but we only had nine paying members this year.  We have about $5,000 in our bank account.   Mary Ann Terrazas said that we are working to get more community involvement.  Amin Mundares divided the neighborhood into zones for distribution of the newsletter.  Melissa talked about a block captain’s program and for block parties.  The By-Laws amendment was approved unanimously.

Rachel stated this it was great to see the turnout at that meeting.  Melissa is open to suggestions for a place for future meetings.  We discussed the homeless encampment under I-76, the new residential development at West 52nd and Marshall, the lack of sidewalks on 52nd, and the improvements being planned at Gold Strike Park.
